Rules, Pets & Accessibility

Hours and access

  • 2026 public season: April 1 through October 31.
  • Park hours: 8:00 a.m. to dusk, seven days a week.
  • Facility gates lock at 10:00 p.m.; all guests must leave before then.
  • Campground vehicles may not enter after 9:00 p.m., and special-event nights may close entry earlier.

Beach, swimming and dunes

  • Use marked walkways and stay out of protected dunes and nesting areas.
  • Swim only in designated areas when lifeguards are on duty.
  • Follow all flags, closure notices and staff instructions.

Dogs and pets

Dogs are not allowed on the beach, dunes, cabana area or playground. Campground pets require licenses and vaccination records, must be on a leash no longer than six feet and may be walked only around the campground perimeter or in the dog park. Pets may not be left unattended.

Campground safety

No fireworks or sparklers are permitted anywhere on the property. Campfires must be in an elevated, self-contained fire pit with a screen and lid; they are not allowed on the ground or in barbecue grills. Wastewater may be released only at sewer-equipped sites or the dump station.

Accessibility

Nassau County states that its programs, services and events must be accessible under Title II of the ADA. Site-specific details for beach mats, pool access, restrooms and accessible routes are not fully published online.
