Updated October 5, 2026. Nickerson Beach Park combines oceanfront recreation with athletic fields, beach volleyball, a skate park, a dog park and pitch-and-putt golf. Availability can change with permits, maintenance, weather and special events.
Fields and courts
The park has multi-use athletic fields and beach-volleyball facilities. Organized use may require a permit; call the park for pricing and availability. Do not assume a field or court is open because it appears unused.
Pitch and putt

- Ball rental: $2
- Golf-club rental: $2 per club
Parking is not included. Nassau County asks visitors to call 516-571-7700 in season or 516-933-4444 in winter for current hours.
Skate park and dog park
The skate park requires helmets and protective gear, closes at 6:00 p.m. and is listed as open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day weekend. Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or parent. Seasonal parking fees apply. The dog park is the designated place for dogs; pets are not allowed on the beach, dunes, cabana area or playground.
