Ocean beach access
The Atlantic Ocean beach is reached from the main parking and cabana areas by marked walkways. Nassau County says visitors on both the east and west sides may use cabana aisles to reach the main beach walkway, and a main walkway from the east parking lot leads directly to the beach.
Use designated paths, stay off protected dunes and nesting areas, and follow posted instructions. The shore is exposed to changing surf, rip currents and weather.
Swimming and lifeguards
Swim only in an open, designated swimming area when lifeguards are on duty. Ocean access does not guarantee that swimming is permitted: closures and restrictions may be imposed for surf, weather, water quality or staffing. See our swimming guide and check with park staff before entering the water.
