Nearby Attractions

Updated October 5, 2026. Nickerson Beach sits between Long Beach and Point Lookout on Long Island’s south shore. The surrounding area makes it easy to combine a park visit with a boardwalk walk, a meal or another waterfront stop.

Long Beach

West of the park, Long Beach has a public boardwalk, restaurants and a Long Island Rail Road station. Beach-admission and parking rules are separate from Nickerson Beach, so check the City of Long Beach before entering its beach.

Lido Beach

Nickerson Beach is in the hamlet of Lido Beach. Residential streets have their own parking restrictions; use designated park parking rather than assuming curb parking is available.

Point Lookout

East of the park, Point Lookout has local dining and waterfront views. Roads can be busy on summer weekends, so allow extra travel time.

Other Nassau County parks

Nassau County operates more than 70 parks, preserves, museums and recreation facilities. Browse the official Where to Go directory for current options.
